This is another bike from our excellent range of women’s road bikes; but with this particular bike comes as a ‘Special Edition’ as this model was never made in this build. This Special ‘one-off’ Custom Build is completely unique so please read on to understand why.
The Dolce range starts off with the beginners model and escalates up the range with the Sport, Elite and Comp models within the range. The ‘Comp’ model is the top-of-the-range within the Dolce line-up and is therefore spec’d with the best frame and components.
However, we have stripped this model down to frame only and then re-built it with a range of higher level components as well as upgrading ALL of the running gear at the same time.
What you are left with is a completely unique build that offers sublime performance allied to a bespoke bike. The result of which is a bike that no-one else owns, that is completely individual.
The bike comes spec’d with age-specific parts married to some new parts here and there. With mixing the old with the new you are left with the best of both worlds.
Thus we have labelled this bike as a ‘Special Edition’ and at the same time pigeoned it as a custom build.
Using Specialized’s best SLX E5 custom tubing as a base we have built up the bike using a Shimano Ultegra 10 speed groupset. The front smaller chainring has been replaced with an aftermarket FSA but the chainset remains. The bike is complimented by a standard Specialized stem but fitted to Deda RHM ‘short and shallow’ handlebars. Shimano’s Pro bar tape finish of the cockpit.
We have mated the upgraded components to a modern Specialized Riva saddle with a Woodman carbon setapost.
To compliment the ride and overall quality of the bike is a set of Mavic Aksium wheels fitted with a pair of modern Mavic tyres.
