#N.B. Please note: Eddy Merckx bikes do NOT measure their bike frames conventionally. They use the seat tube measurement from centre to centre. Therefore the size of the frames comes across as being very small. Hence this model in a 48′ is more like a 54′ or 56′ when compared to other manufacturers such as Trek, Giant or Specialized.
EDDY MERCKX are a highly desirable brand made famous by the heritage associated with their owner. They have a reputation for making amazing framesets and over the years have become known to be the makers of extremely good race bikes.
The company is based in Belgium but are not widely available in the UK. They have sponsored a number of pro cyclists and have even had their own team.
This particular bike has been custom built from the frameset by our in-house Cytech 3 mechanic with a very desirable spec that we chose ourselves. This model was Eddy Merckx’s premium carbon frame made with high-end CL300+ tubing, the same material used in their race team bikes.
Such is the provenance of the frame we have built the bike using an array of high-end components starting off with Shimano’s electronic Ultegra groupset. To compliment this we have fitted Shimano’s carbon laminate, lightweight RS 81 wheels and brand new Continental GP 5000 tyres. A new Prologo saddle and Shimano PRO bar tape complete the build.
The parts for this bike have been individually sourced for their quality as well as their suitability for the build. Because of bikes’ pedigree we have spec’d the bike with a good level of finishing kit; all of the components are brand new Shimano parts in the form of a full PLT stem, seatpost and handlebars. The result of which gives the bike has a great overall feel.
Newly built the bike has a new cassette and chain as well as replacement cables.
We are exceptionally pleased with the outcome. Having ridden the bike myself I can vouch for it’s instant speed and acceleration due in part to its light weight. You instantly know that you are riding something special when it manages to offer great comfort too. The bike responds extremely well and you instantly know that you are riding like a top quality product.
The bike simply looks great in it’s black, white, grey and red livery. We have matched the upgrades on the bike to colour co-ordinate the build.

The bike is in very good condition as are the wheels with some of the components in exceptional condition. The handlebars, stem, seatpost, saddle and bar tape are brand new. Apart from a few blemishes here and there you would find it difficult to fault the overall quality of the bike.
Overall this is an amazing bike, with incredible pedigree that offers fabulous value for money.
The bike is ready to ride.

This bike offers tremendous value for money for a fraction of its actual / true value. If you are after a lightweight bike with great provenance with the added benefit of electronic gears then this is the bike for you.
