GIANT Defy `2` Men’s Road Bike

This is a fantastic bike that would be ideally suited as a training / winter bike.
The Defy model is the comfort model within the Giant range with this particular model being the aluminium version made with Giant’s Aluxx alloy, along with carbon fibre forks. This model is the “2” within the range thus sitting in the middle of the of the spec options.
We have named this bike a ‘Special Edition’ as we have upgraded it throughout. With manufacturers often cutting corners within the bikes’ spec, with unbranded or cheap brake calipers as well using mass produced parts or OE equipment, we decided to change these parts and replaced them in order to improve the bike.
Our bike now comes fitted with an almost full Shimano Tiagra groupset (an upgraded Shimano 105 rear mech) as well as a number of upgraded (in-house) Giant Connect parts. We have upgraded the bike in a couple of key areas, most notably by fitting a pair of excellent Giant’s PR 2 wheels to compliment the ride. (These wheels have been taken from a better model in the range and the silver colour-scheme matches the colour of the bike.) We have then matched these to an almost new pair of Continental Grand Prix tyres in a wider 28′ tyre depth. The wheels and tyres match the bike very well and offer better handling and comfort that are also better for the winter.
As mentioned above to enhance the ride and overall feel of the bike we have fitted the bike with a set of Giant Connect components that are an improvement over the standard kit. We have then fitted a better seatpost, an upgraded Giant Connect saddle and super comfy Tenn Outdoors ‘rubber feel’ (that is super comfy & squishy) bar tape to finish.
The rubbery bar tape is super comfortable and would make any long distance ride feel effortless. It is both spongy and durable and a great addition to the bike.
Overall the bike is in good condition with a couple of marks here and there. It was lightly used by both of its previous owners and re-purchased by ourselves from its last owner who we know personally. We can therefore vouch very highly for the bike. It has always been very well looked after and maintained to a high standard.
The bike also has a super colour scheme that gives it huge kerb appeal and would make any new owner very happy.

This bike would be an excellent investment for someone looking for a great bike to train on. It also has the ability to be used as a winter bike. It has fitments for mudguards, and/or a rack and still use fatter width tyres. It offers good performance as well as a good spec and comfort.
We have massively upgraded this bike with over £500 of extras and thus it is now a joy to ride.
It is a worthy competitor to the (more expensive carbon) Specialized Roubaix but for much less money.
Overall a great bike that with its numerous upgrades that makes tremendous value for money and unique.
