This is one of our few ventures into the very buoyant RETRO bike market.
With their great following and provenance we decided to reinvigorate the excellent ALUXX-aluminium tubed Giant TCR from the late 1990s, early 2000s .
This was Giant’s raciest model with this particular bike being produced between 1998 and 2001 . These models were available in different spec’s and sizes all of which were fitted with Giant’s straight-blade carbon fibre forks. We have built this entire bike with age-specific parts from the frame up with an excellent range of parts and components, with a majority of the parts from the Giant stable.
The bike comes fitted with Giant’s IOU 333 factory wheels, which are fitted with a set of brand new colour co-ordinated Schwalbe tyres. As mentioned previously, the bike features in-house Giant parts from the correct era that include the stem, seatpost and handlebars; the only exception to this being the modern saddle and tyres both of which are new.
The build and refurbishment also includes a new bottom bracket, brand new chain and cassette as well as a full service where we have replaced old parts with newer or refurbished ones.
The bikes’ frame is in very good order and only shows a few age related marks here and there (as you’d expect of a bike of this age.)
We have sourced an age specific Shimano 105 groupset that would have been similar to the original bike’s spec. Standard parts from the Giant stable include the alloy stem and bars as well as the (upgraded) carbon seatpost.
The originality of the bike is key as it should now retain it’s future value due to it’s authenticity.

This bike would be an excellent investment for someone looking to add to their collection of bikes. We have built this bike primarily for the collector who wishes to own a retro bike that has been built with age specific parts. This bike will only increase in value and yet it can still be used on the road for when you to wish to cycle with a bit of nostalgia.
