This is another bike from our excellent range of women’s road bikes.

The Specialized Dolce ‘Elite’ is one of our best sellers within the Dolce range as there all types of spec’s and frame quality within the series. The earlier ‘Elite’ and ‘Comp’ models featured an excellent quality aluminium frame that was made of ‘better’ Columbus tubing with the top of the range models having a carbon rear end with Zertz elastomers. All models came with comfortable carbon forks some of which were also fitted with the Zertz elastomers – which essentially offer suspension qualities.

The more recent Specialized’s DO NOT come with this frameset, but with poorer A1 aluminium tubing and no carbon stays.    

The bike is in good – very good condition, which can be noticed by the lack on marks on the frame. There is normal level of corrosion / wear on the levers but the overall condition of the bike is very good. There is little wear on the chainset, reinforced by the lack of any wear / marks on the decals. .

In order to give the bike greater kerb appeal we have given the bike a light refurbishment as well as upgrading it in a number of areas.

We have upgraded the bike with a replacement saddle and new tyres as well as fitting it with new bar tape. In order to enhance the look of the bike we have colour co-ordinated all of the parts too thus giving the bike a fresh look.  

The bike is fitted with a great spec, offering an almost full Shimano Tiagra groupset. Like any bike the first upgrade is the wheels and notably this bike has been fitted with a set of Rodi wheels that have a semi-dish rim, thus allowing the rider to maintain a better speed, once travelling.  We have upgraded the brake calipers with newer Tektro brakes that give the bike a better feel when braking. To widen the appeal the bike in now fitted with aftermarket cross-top safety brakes, thus allowing the rider to put the brakes on from the comfort of the top of the handlebars. This addition would therefore make the bike appealing to any new riders looking to move onto a road bike, from a mountain bike or hybrid – thus making the transition easier.  With the introduction of better, and more modern, tyres the whole bike is now a much better package than a newer model. In addition to the brakes and a much improved pair of wheels, the bike offers tremendous value for money.

The bike would also suit a novice or a complete beginner as it has a wide range of gears, it has a triple compact chainset, thus having enough gears for the flats and the hills. Moreover, with the overall brake upgrade makes this bike even more appealing. The bike is a lot lighter than some of the more modern models as it has a such good quality frame. Now that the bike has been refurbished it has masses of kerb appeal.
