This is another one of our fantastic ladies Specialized road bikes, but this one is EXTRA SPECIAL!
The `Ruby` is the full carbon women’s version of the men’s `Roubaix` model. It is less sportier than the racier women’s specialized `Amira` model and offers great levels of comfort due to the quality of the carbon fibre frame. This particular model was top of the range and came equipped with a predominantly 10 speed Shimano 105 groupset. It would have been fitted with a pair of Shimano or basic Mavic wheels and budget Tektro brakes.
We have built this bike up from the frame which is a new / old stock item.
Since the frame was brand new we decided to build the bike with a wishlist of components that were a mixture of new and used.
The basis of the build was to use a full Shimano Ultegra groupset, made that much better by utilising a triple chainset, thus allowing the bike to have a much bigger range of gears. The Shimano Ultegra gearing is well suited to the bike which as mentioned above, is essentially a sports-tourer.
The bike comes fitted with some new components which compliment the new frame. These include a set of Shimano PRO PLT stem, bars & seatpost. An upgraded Specialized’s Lithia women’s specific saddle completes the cockpit with new Shimano bar tape
To add extra speed to the bike we have fitted a set of (colour co-ordianted) American Classic aero wheels. The wheels are the fitted with Specialized’s Turbo tyres to enhance the characteristics of the wheels. These wheels always receive rave reviews and give the bike added kerb appeal as well as better performance.
This is a super custom built bike with a great range of components. Because of the build it is a ‘one-off’ which makes the bike that more interesting and unique.
The bike has recently been built and is ready to ride.
