KONA are well respected brand from Canada.
They are normally associated with mountain bikes and have a very good heritage in producing exceptional bikes throughout their range.
They have been producing road bikes for a number of years and their ‘Jake the Snake’ cyclocross bike was often considered the ‘Go To’ CX bike such was it’s quality. It was often used at pro level so became a good foundation for their road bikes.
Amongst their range of road bikes were models like the Zing (carbon road bike); Paddy Wagon (single speed); and ‘Lisa’ – which was their women’s specific bike. They also made a carbon version of the bike as well as TT bike too. All of these models were very well spec’d and was often considered a far better alternative to women’s specific bikes from Specialized, Giant or Trek.
This particular bike has been custom built and now features an array of both new and used parts that compliment the excellent frame.
The bike comes fitted with 10 speed Shimano Tiagra gearing mated to a brand new FSA Energy double (compact) chainset. The gears, including the front and rear mech’s are all fairly new with the shifters being new, old stock. The cassette and chain are both new as is the bottom bracket and the saddle which is a women’s specific saddle from Selle Italia. Both the seatpost, bars and stem come from Kona’s in-house series.
The brake calipers come from Miche that are fitted with brand new pads.
The wheels are from USA brand Ritchey which are fitted with colour co-ordinated Schwalbe Lugano tyres.
