GIANT SCR ‘C 3’ Carbon Men’s Road Bike

This is another one of our excellent men’s road bikes.

The SCR preceeded the ‘Defy’ in Giant range but the “C” version is the carbon framed model in the range. These models were available in different spec’s and materials – i.e carbon/ carbon-alloy/ OR aluminium (just like the Defy and TCR) ranging from the lowest and poorest spec ‘4’ right up to the top of the range model the ‘1’. This model is the “3” and thus is at the centre of the range.

The bike now comes fitted with a number of excellent upgrades no more so than a modern pair of Giant’s PR2 factory wheels, which are upgraded further with a set of Continental tyres.

Ordinarily this bike would come fitted with an almost full Shimano 105 groupset and cheap in-house Tektro brakes. However, we have upgraded in a number of key areas and where replacements were deemed necessary upgraded with modern (and better) parts.

These upgrades include the saddle, stem, brake calipers and bar tape. The bike has been subject to a light refurbishment and serviced. that include replacement cables as well as Shimano’s excellent 105 (OE) brakes calipers.

The most notable upgrade is the gearing, where the bike now features Shimano’s excellent Ultegra gearing. This is a worthy upgrade over the standard 105 shifters that allow the bike a crisper feel when changing gear.

So; ultimately what you are left with is an excellent bike with a very good quality frame. A lot of the parts have been upgraded with much better ones as well as much better gearing.

The bike is in very good condition and only shows a few age related marks here and there. The refurbishment far outweighs any shortcomings the bike may have. With the bikes super colour scheme it has great kerb appeal it would make any new owner very happy.
