KINESIS are a UK brand known predominantly for their winter bikes. Their highly desirable ‘Racelight’ range is regarded as the ‘go to’ model for winter / touring use.

However, they also have great heritage associated with racing and their racy models are also highly regarded for their quality. This range is known as the ‘KR’ (Kinesis Racing) series that offers different models throughout the range.

Our KR 510 model is one of those models which has an aluminium frame and carbon fibre forks. This model has been very well received in numerous tests whereby it is found that it offers speed but comfort. These bikes sometimes come as complete packages or you can purchase the frame/forks individually for £645. Hence a custom build such as this one would be in the region of £1450.

Although Kinesis doesn’t have any women’s specific models they do offer a huge range of sizes that go down as small as the 43` model that we have here. These smaller frames are often built up as either fast children’s bikes or moreover, women’s bikes, which is what we have done with particular frame.

As mentioned previously this particular bike is aluminium. We have custom built it using Shimano’s 10 speed Tiagra as it’s basis, with an upgraded Shimano 105 rear mech. To compliment this spec are pair of Ritchey OCS Pro wheels, fitted with brand new set of Schwalbe Blizzard tyres. A new Selle Italia saddle and bar tape complete the build.

Ordinarily it is difficult to find a bike that offers a complete Shimano groupset, but we have cut no corners in this build. The bike comes fitted with a Deda / Ritchey finishing kit that compliments the wheels. 

The bike simply looks great in it’s black, white and blue livery.

Newly built, the bike is now ready to ride.

We are really pleased with the outcome of our build.

Overall this is a great bike, with incredible pedigree that offers fabulous value for money. The price of the bike is LESS than the original cost of just the frame!

The bike would make a superb bike for the shorter female cyclist. It offers comfort and speed with bags of originality. The bike has great provenance and would be an ideal companion to use as a club bike, race bike or to use in Sportives.
