Aprire are a little known English brand (based in Aldershot, Hants) that was started by Phil Dempsey in 2009. Phil is a qualified engineer and his background was speciailsing in carbon lay-up and stress analysis who spent many years in the industry working for such brands as Hayes brakes as well as DMR and Banshee Bikes.
Aprire have 4 models within their range; from their budget aluminium Inverno model to the top-of-the-range Vincenza, that was formerly used by one of the UK female pro teams.
The ‘Celeste’ model that we have features in the middle of the range and has been custom built from the frame up by our in-house Cytech 3 mechanic. We used a selection of new and used parts that would compliment the overall ride of the bike. We deliberately didn’t ‘over-build’ the bike thus spec’d it with a good honest groupset and matched the parts accordingly. What we have now is an extremely comfortable and well performing bike that is somewhat unique. The bike would be a worthy competitor to many well-known brands such as Giant, Specialized or Trek and a very good alternative to either a Defy, TCR, Roubaix or Domane.
This particular bike has been built with a full Shimano 105 groupset (RS 500 chainset) and mated to pair of Shimano RS 10 wheels; the result of which is a very light and surefooted bike. We have then matched the rest of the bike with Shimano PRO finishing kit, completing the spec with a San Marco saddle. Brand new 25` Michelin Dynamic tyres complete the package.
The parts that have been used for the built are new and used but ALL are in excellent condition.
The bikes overall condition reflects this and can only be described in first class order.
